HOW OUR DATA IS PRODUCED — RESEARCH, NOT TESTING
Night Glimpse is a research-based publication. Our specifications and ratings are compiled from manufacturer specification sheets, published product documentation and manuals, and verified owner reviews. We do not operate a testing laboratory. We do not conduct hands-on field testing, and we never claim to have personally used a device we have not used. No figure on this site is a measurement we took ourselves.
Where a score appears, it is a research-based rating: an editorial synthesis of published specifications, expert consensus, and verified owner feedback. It is a comparative judgement built on compiled data, not a laboratory result.
Accuracy of specifications
We take reasonable care to record published figures correctly, but we cannot guarantee that every specification on this site is complete, current, or accurate. Manufacturers revise products mid-generation, update firmware, change sensor suppliers, and occasionally restate their own figures. Detection ranges in particular are manufacturer-stated marketing figures, usually derived under favourable conditions, and they describe detection of a human-sized heat source rather than recognition or identification of a target.
Always confirm the current specification on the manufacturer’s own documentation or the seller’s listing before buying. If you find an error here, tell us at hello@nightglimpse.com and we will correct it.

Regulations covering the equipment we cover differ sharply by state, by country, and by land status. Several U.S. states restrict or prohibit thermal and night vision devices for hunting; several restrict trail cameras on public land, and some restrict them seasonally. Night vision equipment may be subject to federal export controls, and exporting or carrying such devices across borders may be unlawful without authorisation.
You are solely responsible for determining and complying with the law where you live and where you use any device. Publishing a device’s specifications is not an endorsement of any particular use of it.

Optical and sensor performance depends heavily on conditions we cannot account for: ambient temperature, humidity, precipitation, terrain, vegetation, target size, and the operator’s experience. Two people using an identical device in different environments will report different results.
